This hotel is not luxurious, but it's very clean and felt pretty safe. The big fridge and microwave were helpful. There's also a dishwashing sink in a room off the lobby, which could be helpful if you're staying for a while. Hot water was good. The location is...well, that depends on where you want to go. There's a Divvy bikeshare station two blocks away; I was working on the UIC campus and could get there by bike in ten or eleven minutes. Blue and Pink CTA lines aren't far, and bus stops aren't far either. But there's not much in the surrounding neighborhood itself -- really hardly any restaurants or bars at all. Count on taking at least half an hour to get to the Loop by bike or transit; 40 minutes to Wicker Park. One last thing: the desk staff were quite friendly and helpful. But when I arrived, after 11:00 pm, the desk clerk issued me a keycard to a room that was already occupied. And the card worked. Fortunately, the occupant had latched the security latch so I didn't literally walk in on him, but it's not an experience you want to have. I see here on Tripadvisor that this has happened to other people. It seems like they really need to fix their room-assignment system. Meanwhile, definitely use the security latch!

I had a very nice stay. I was grateful for the plentiful soaps/conditioner and even shaving razors were provided. Also plenty of water bottles which was appreciated.

I was attending a conference at Rush Medical. The hotel is within walking distance to the venue. There are two rail stations near-the Pink on Polk and the Blue line. The rooms are comfortable and have Wifi, TV, refrigerator and coffee maker. They meet your needs. Unfortunately, there are two restaurants nearby-a tavern (not open on Sundays and closes early) and a Mexican restaurant. Otherwise you need to obtain transportation-rail, car, uber, Lyft.
